Literature Text

The world is cloudy now,
As I slowly slip away.
More and more people repeat themselves,
as if I'm some bumbling fool

Oftentimes I feign foolishness,
to see what they will do...
They tote me around with them
when their pity strengthens

It's really all that I've become
the agony of their pitying gaze
Gives a slow but still-beating heart
no comfort.

High pitched voices and large-eyed perceptions
remind me of when I was opposite the end of the spectrum
still, but waiting to become...

I can only take joy that inevitably
they will become like me, inevitably
they will see through my eyes , and inevitably
they will hate it, as I do now.

Life is not meant to be remembered
it is to be experienced.
Try walking in these shoes...

I love the 1st stanza... gives that feeling of numbness and frustration with a body giving up on you.. An awesome poem, kudos :)
